This happens more often than you might think.

A hunter in Kentucky shot a buck ( a really nice buck) with a head still attached to it from another buck it must have been fighting.

According to Metro Source News:

The Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife said they suspect the two deers got into a fight and their antlers got intertwined. They said the head likely came loose and separated from the decaying body.
