“I Fall To Peices” Celebrates 52 Years At #1

It was this date in country music history that Patsy Cline reached #1 status with a song for the first time in her career.

"I Fall To Pieces" soared to the top on this date (August 7) in 1961.

I think the song has one of the most recognizable first couple of notes. Brenda Lee had turned this song down saying it was "too country" for her style. I guess the argument of what is too country has been debated even as far back as the '60s!

"I Fall To Pieces" is still one of the best all time songs and, in my opinion, one that should be considered a standard in any classic country fan's collection.
