Dale May Have Finally Found A Sign From Shelley

She's going to be in town tonight at Buffalo State's Rockwell Hall for one show only. Her name is Maureen Hancock, author of the best-selling book The Medium Next Door.

It was after a childhood illness that she realized she had a gift to communicate with those who have passed on. Maureen says that over the years she's learned to channel those voices and faces that pop up on her everywhere she goes.  In other words, she can turn it on and off.

Clay, Liz and I spoke with her last week, and during the conversation, she was getting some feelings about some of our loved ones who have passed on. It's hard to do a reading like that on the phone. But I told Maureen that since my wife Shelley passed away, I have never received a sign from her. Butterflies, a gust of wind, something out of place...anything that would show me her spirit was still with me. I just have never felt it. Her memory is always with me, but I just never saw or felt any sign. Maureen told me those signs are there, I'm just not noticing them.

Since Shelley passed away, there are two little boys in my neighborhood who always come around to say hello and enjoy talking to me. They seem disappointed when I'm not home. Then yesterday, I was having lunch when a mother and two children came into the restaurant, and while the mother was ordering at the counter, the two kids came right over to me and started asking me about my lunch. After explaining that I felt like having a salad and showing them what was in it, the little girl said, "I like you." When their mother brought their tray of food, the kids wanted to sit with me.

I've been trying to figure out why these kids are attracted to me, and Clay pointed out it might be a sign I've been looking for. Shelley was a teacher. She had an amazing ability to relate to young kids. Kids loved her. And because of that relationship, she was able to get kids to learn and succeed.

Maybe, just maybe, this is Shelley's way of saying she's still with me.
