There are laws and rules and regulations and stipulations and ordinances and statutes and......does it ever end?  They say ignorance of the law is no excuse but sometimes even the most seemingly insignificant action can get you into trouble.

Take for example a man from the Syracuse suburb of Manlius, NY who faces a lawsuit for parking his own vehicle in the driveway of own home.  According to a post in syracuse.com the man lives in a neighborhood with a homeowners' association that decided he's not allowed to park his 2014 Ford F-150 pick-up truck in his driveway.  The Kimry Moor Homeowners Association says only "private, passenger-type, pleasure automobiles" are allowed to be parked outside a home.

David Orlando says his pick-up truck is his private, pleasure vehicle.  He has regular license plates on it, they're not commercial plates. And for some reason he's being unfairly targeted because a drive around the neighborhood found other homes with full size pick-up trucks, a large van and an SUV.

They plan to battle the lawsuit in court.  I bet you the complaint came from a neighbor on one side or the other who was upset because their view up and down the street was obstructed.  And that's why you should consider yourself lucky if you have good neighbors that you can intelligently discuss things with, rather than sic the homeowners association on.
