Jason Aldean Scores Career-High Debut With ‘Take a Little Ride’ Single
Jason Aldean‘s fifth studio album hasn’t hit shelves yet, but it’s already off to a racing start. The upcoming record’s lead single, ‘Take a Little Ride’ debuted at No. 19 on the country chart, making it Aldean’s highest debuting single to date. And the rocking country star’s accomplishments don’t end there: Billboard predicts that the single’s brisk sales will make history as the biggest debut ever for a digital song by a male country artist.
“I am honestly just blown away,” said Aldean. “I had a whole year of ‘firsts’ last year … things like my first arena tour selling out and taking home my first CMA awards, but I still feel like I’ve got a long way to go, so having two more ‘firsts’ come this week is really exciting for me. I love this single, and there are 14 more songs that I’m really proud of coming right behind it!”
Download projections for ‘Take a Little Ride’ are approaching 200,000 for Wednesday’s chart. Although Aldean is blown away by the single’s success, fans aren’t shocked to see his latest single performing well on the charts. The popular country artist has been selling tickets to his My Kinda Party tour like hotcakes. Aldean has sold out every date on the show so far, including his first ever stadium sell-out show in Columbus, Ohio.
Tickets are going so fast that over the weekend it only took 30 seconds to sell out the 20,000 seat Blossom Music Center in Cleveland (9/7) and just four minutes to move 20,000 tickets at Dallas’ Gexa Energy Pavilion (10/27). Last week, Aldean fans snatched up more than 44,000 tickets in four minutes for his St. Louis (9/14) and Indianapolis (9/15) shows.
