Jason Aldean is getting ready to welcome his third child into the world, but many other country stars are becoming dads for the first time — like his buddy Thomas Rhett. Aldean says he’s been in touch with Rhett, who just brought home one daughter from Uganda and is expecting their biological daughter soon, offering what advice he can.

“I was texting him one day and he was kinda asking me some questions,” Aldean tells Taste of Country at Country Jam. “So I talked to him a little bit about it because I do have two older daughters.”

The singer admits, though, that there’s really not a lot he can prep him for. “I think being a parent — it’s something you figure out along the way,” he says. “There’s no book; there’s no right or wrong way to do it. You just figure it out as you go along.”

Another one of Aldean’s buddies, Tyler Hubbard of Florida Georgia Line, is also going to become a dad soon.

“I’m excited for those two guys and excited to go through it myself again with a boy," he says. Aldean's wife, Brittany, is pregnant with his first son.

The star performed at the Country Jam Festival in Colorado on June 16, bringing to life hits like “The Only Way I Know” and “Big Green Tractor” for thousands of fans during a 90 minute set that capped off Day 2 of the event. He also performed at the Taste of Country Music Festival recently and participated in a tribute to Gregg Allman at the CMT Awards.

Aldean's most recent single — the title track from his most recent record — “They Don’t Know” follows three other hits from the album: “Lights Come On,” “A Little More Summertime” and “Any Ol’ Barstool.” His tour by the same name launched in April with Kane Brown and Chris Young as openers.
