Today (April 3) was the trade deadline in the NHL, and the Buffalo Sabres have been known to string things out until the very end on this day. Such was the case today, as the Sabres just made a move to trade their former Captain Jason Pominville to the Minnesota Wild.

According to Michael Russo from the Minneapolis Star Tribune, the Sabres made the trade for two prospects, Johan Larsson and Matt Hackett, and what could be described as high draft picks.

Pominville has been here in Buffalo for his entire professional career since 2004.  I will never forget his overtime, game-winning short-handed goal against Ottawa in 2006.
