Jay Blanchard has been pedaling a bike across the country coast to coast to raise awareness and money for the American Widow Project.  He began his journey June 2nd and when his trip is complete he will have ridden more than 4,200 miles from Oregon to Virginia.  He's currently in western Missouri battling not only fatigue, but excessively high heat.  In his latest video Jay says he has been drinking more fluids than he ever has in his life and sweating it out just as quickly

Jay is a financial advisor with the Financial Guys in Williamsville and is participating in the Trans Am Bike Race, the world's longest unsupported bicycle race.  From Astoria, Oregon to Yorktown, Virginia he's riding in support of an organization that provides the kind of help military widows and their families need after the tragedy of losing a loved one.

Jay was hoping to ride 100 to 250 miles a day and his original estimate was that the trip would take him 25 days to complete.  Along the way he's been forced to deal with incredibly volatile weather including snow and sleet in the mountains, a tornado in Kansas and now heat and humidity in the plains.
In addition to the sights he has seen along the way he has met some incredible people and Jay describes some of the people he has met in his latest YouTube video update.
