Jennifer Nettles of Sugarland, who is currently knee-deep in promoting her first solo effort, opened the 'CMA Country Christmas' special on Dec. 2 like a consummate elf -- one that can sing her heart out while dancing.

Dressed in a sparkly red blazer, a candy cane-striped romper and with what looked like a mistletoe ornament on her head, the songstress belted out 'What Christmas Means to Me' and it was enough to melt the 'Bah, humbug!' chill off the heart off any Scrooge.

Nettles also served as the show's host, so it was only fitting that she opened the holiday special with a spunky musical number. She also reminded us in her opening monologue that a year ago when she hosted this very same special, she was bursting with pregnancy and about to give birth to son Magnus.

What a difference a year makes. She still (and always) sounds terrific.
