A Florida fifth grader was kicked out of his school's talent show because it had " Too Much Jesus" in it.

If you want to show your talents, make sure there's no religion in it.  That's the message that I get from this boy getting kicked out of a talent show.  He wanted to perform an interpretive dance routine to a song that had "too many religious lyrics" in it, according to the school's principal.

The school has since been sued by David Cortman, Head Council with the National Alliance Defense Fund and reversed its decision.  The boy will now be allowed to dance.

But why should it come to this?  Since when is Jesus "offensive?"  Maybe I just don't see it because I'm a Christian.  I don't get offended when people want to show me what they believe.  I may not believe what they do, but it doesn't mean that they can't talk about it, sing about it, or even interpretive dance about it.  Somewhere along the line though it seems as if religion is becoming more and more offensive to people.  They're constantly trying to take it out of our pledge of allegiance, off our money, they're even trying to take it out of CHRISTmas.  I don't get it.

Now I'm not gonna sit here and write that I'm the perfect Christian who memorizes scripture and volunteers every free minute that I have.  But I also will never apologize for believing what I believe.  And I pray that you will never have to either.

The United States used to be a bit of a melting pot of cultures where everyone would add a little bit of themselves to make a better dish.  Lately though it seems as if some of the ingredients that have been in the pot for years are being tossed back out for fear that they might ruin the recipe.  Personally, I wish I was more like this kid.  I believe that the world could use a little more Jesus in its recipe.  Maybe we wouldn't be so bitter then.
