After Sunday's rainout, Monster Energy Cup drivers were greeted by a beautiful day at Bristol Motor Speedway on Monday and it turned out to be a perfect day for Jimmie Johnson who won his second straight race.  Johnson led 81 of 500 laps to claim his 82nd career victory putting him just one behind Cale Yarborough and two behind Bobby Allison and Darrell Waltrip.

Clint Bowyer came in second for his best finish in four years and his second Top 5 finish of the season.  Kevin Harvick, Matt Kenseth and Joey Logano completed the Top 5.

Pole sitter Kyle Larson was off and running at the beginning of the race.  He led the first 202 laps and won Stage 1, but a pit road speeding penalty knocked him to the rear of the lead lap.  That pretty much ended his hopes for a win.  He rallied from 17th to finish sixth.  Larson still leads the season standings by 27 points over Chase Elliott.

Martin Truex, Jr. won Stage 2 and looked to be in good shape until a speeding penalty with just 34 laps left cost him the race.  He finished eighth.

Crashes meant early exits for Kyle Busch and Dale Earnhardt, Jr.

Richmond International Speedway is up next on the schedule.
