John Fogerty Originally Thought He ‘Discovered’ Miranda Lambert
Miranda Lambert is one of the many big-name artists to make a guest appearance on former Creedence Clearwater Revival frontman John Fogerty's new album, 'Wrote a Song for Everyone.' And while Fogerty is an enthusiastic fan of Lambert's now, he admits that when he first heard her, he somehow thought he was discovering an unknown artist.
"I first heard Miranda's voice on the radio, and just was really taken by it," Fogerty tells USA Today. "And through a sort of circuitous route, I thought I was the only person discovering her. And eventually, to my own embarrassment, realized all the rest of the world really knew her very well. She'd already won Album of the Year and that sort of thing."
Fogerty and Lambert were singing together on an awards show when he asked her to appear on the album. "This was a note that was slipped to her, and I think in the other room I heard her say, 'Hell yeah!'" he recounts.
