It’s time once again for our Hometown Hero, brought to you by Batavia Downs Gaming with help from our friends at WNY Heroes who help us with our nominations every week.  This Week’s Hometown Hero was born and raised in North Tonawanda.  From our United States Army, it’s John Sniadecki!

John graduated from North Tonawanda Senior High School with the class of ’99 and joined the US Army right after. He received basic training and some additional training in Fort Sill, Oklahoma. John has been stationed in Hawaii, Fort Drum in NY, Korea, and Fort Carson Colorado.  John also did one tour in Afghanistan, where he was a radar operator, tracking and locating enemy positions. He also spent time in Forward Operating Base Shkin, Iraq, performing patrols, air assault missions, and built up base defense. John Assisted in local medical aide there as well. John was also at Forward Operating Base Mahmudiya, Iraq. John was honorably discharged in 2010.

This week, we are proud to put a spotlight on John and say thank you for his time and sacrifice to serve our great country.  Thank you to John Sniadecki, our Hometown Hero of the week.
