Yes, that is the head of an animatronic velociraptor that will appear in 'Jurassic Park 4,' giving us our first direct look at a dinosaur from the highly anticipated film. It turns out that director Colin Trevorrow wasn't lying or exaggerating when he promised that his sequel would feature practical effects ... and we love him for it.

There are many reasons why the original 'Jurassic Park' continues to age like fine wine, but chief among them is the film's perfect blend of practical effects and CGI. Trevorrow hasn't been shy about his love of the first film and his dedication to capturing what makes it special. Only time will tell if he can deliver tension and awe on the same level as Steven Spielberg, but a physical dinosaur animatronic that actually exists on set and gives the actors something to scream at and run from is a very quick way into our heart.

This picture initially popped up on Instagram before being found by a fan site who confirmed its authenticity. We won't lie: seeing a raptor that's not made out of pixels sends chills down our spine. The first trailer for this movie can't arrive soon enough. We can't wait to watch Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard stare in wonderment at these creatures ... before they start running for their lives, of course.

'Jurassic World' is set to open in theaters on June 12, 2015.
