A terrible tragedy in Kansas City involving Chiefs player Jovan Belcher. The 25-year old linebacker shot himself in front of coach Romeo Crennel and general manager Scott Pioli Saturday morning at Arrowhead Stadium after apparently murdering his girlfriend earlier at another location.

The 1-10 Chiefs are scheduled to host the 3-8 Carolina Panthers Sunday and at last check that game is still scheduled to be played. The NFL instructed the Panthers to travel to Kansas City where a decision on whether to postpone or cancel the game will be made.

Belcher was a fourth year reserve linebacker who was signed as an undrafted free agent out of the University of Maine.
