An 18-year-old man charged with raping a 17-year-old female at last weekend’s Keith Urban concert says the encounter was consensual. The alleged incident took place on the lawn during the concert, while onlookers took video on their cell phones.

Those videos are being used as evidence, according to the Boston Globe. Police say Sean Murphy of West Roxbury and the 17-year-old did not know each other. They began kissing near a concession stand before moving to the lawn. The Attleboro Sun Chronicle reports the incident was halted when another woman intervened and asked the alleged victim if she was consenting. Police say the second woman pulled Murphy off the girl.

An update on the Mansfield Police Department Facebook page indicates a male fan was the first to notify police of the alleged act. After obtaining a description, "exit gates were limited" and police scanned the crowd to find the alleged perpetrator.

Police add that both the defendant and the girl were drinking during the show at the Xfinity Center in Mansfield, Mass., near Boston. It’s the same show at which several dozen people required medical treatment for alcohol related illnesses.

Murphy was charged with one count of rape. He pleaded innocent in Attleboro District Court and was expected to be released on $10,000 bail. He’s due back in court on Sept. 25.
