When Kelsea Ballerini stepped onstage to sing "Peter Pan" at a show on Thursday (Sept. 15), she could barely make it through. Earlier in the week, the rising star made history with the song, which became her third consecutive No. 1 tune, and she couldn't contain her emotions over the situation.

When "Peter Pan" reached No. 1 on the Billboard country charts, it made Ballerini the first female country artist to hit No. 1 with her first three consecutive singles from a debut album. The song hit No. 1 on Ballerini's birthday (Sept. 12), leaving the singer "emotional" and sending out lots of love on social media (for example, this epic Instagram post). And when she took the stage later that week, she was completely overwhelmed.

When Ballerini couldn't hold it together, she opted instead to let the fans sing "Peter Pan" for her while she wept on stage. Of course, their singing only made her cry harder, and at one point, Ballerini had to actually sit down on the stage. The screaming fans carried her through the song, as she wiped tears from her eyes and took it all in.

After the show, Ballerini posted a tweet that reads, "Bawled my way through "Peter Pan" tonight onstage. Wish I could go back & tell my 12-year-old self this would be my life. Grateful and humbled."

Ballerini has received love from fans and fellow artists alike following the big news: The singer posted a sweet video montage of fans singing "Peter Pan," and she even heard from her hero, Kelly Clarkson, who tweeted out a congrats. Ballerini also has a fan in actress Reese Witherspoon, who tweeted "Hold on,  ... Do you really have 3 number one hits on your debut album??!!" (Of course, Ballerini responded, revealing her love of Witherspoon and her iconic Legally Blonde character: "YES AND EVERY TIME I GOT OVERWHELMED I JUST DID THE BEND AND SNAP. Adore you. And hi!")

Ballerini will embark on her very first headlining tour this fall: The First Time Tour will kick off on Oct. 21.
