Not a bad way to celebrate your 41st birthday. Matt Kenseth used a late pit stop to take the lead at Las Vegas Motor Speedway and held off Kasey Kahne over the final 30 laps to win his 25th career Sprint Cup victory and third at Las Vegas.

Kahne had the dominant car leading 114 laps and he spent most of the afternoon battling with teammate Jimmie Johnson for the lead, but Kenseth took on only fuel while most of the other car changed two tires. That put Kenseth first out of the pits and even with old tires he was able to hold off the rest of the field.

Kenseth becomes the third driver to win a race on his birthday. He joins Kyle Busch and Cale Yarborough who did it twice.

Pole sitter Brad Keselowski came in third with Kyle Busch and Dale Earnhardt, Junior completing the Top Five.

After three races Jimmie Johnson leads the points standings followed by Keselowski and Earnhardt.

Next week it's short track racing at Bristol.
