Kix Brooks was part of country music’s biggest duo’s “Brooks & Dunn” for over 20 years and now he has won a CMA Award without his former partner Ronnie Dunn.  Kix was surprised Monday with a phone call from Tim McGraw telling him he had just won the CMA for Broadcast Personality of the Year as host of American Country Countdown, which you can hear every Sunday night on WYRK.  Actually this is the second win for Kix in this category he won it in 2009, but it is his first win since the duo separated and had collected 19 CMA Awards  together.
