Krystal Keith, Lance Carpenter Debut Acoustic ‘Anyone Else’ [Exclusive Premiere]

Krystal Keith and Lance Carpenter have teamed up for a special acoustic rendition of their duet, "Anyone Else," which they are premiering exclusively for Taste of Country readers.

They sing of a one-of-a-kind love on the track, the kind of love that inspires people to do things they otherwise would not.

"I wouldn't get in my car, drive across town if you were anyone else / I wouldn't stand in the rain, willing to make a fool of myself / No I wouldn't give in just to taste your kiss and you know damn well / I wouldn't fight like hell if you were anyone else," they sing in the chorus.

Kelly Archer, Greg Bates and Emily Shackleton wrote "Anyone Else," and when Carpenter heard the song, he decided to invite Keith to sing it with him as a duet. Carpenter is best known as a songwriter whose credits include Kelsea Ballerini's "Love Me Like You Mean It," and he and Keith met in a songwriting session a couple of years ago. In 2017 he signed with her father Toby Keith's label, Show Dog Records, making them label mates.

Carpenter and Keith perform "Anyone Else" very simply in the video above, in a stark, stripped-down version that relies on simple acoustic guitars and the pair's unique vocal chemistry to convey the song.

Keith released her self-titled debut EP in 2013, and followed it up later that year with her full-length debut, Whiskey & Lace. She is currently working on a new EP, which is tentatively slated for a spring release.
