Lady Antebellum Get Uncomfortably Close to a Fan on ‘Jimmy Fallon’

The hit country trio Lady Antebellum have been racking up plenty of television appearances, with a recent visit to Ellen DeGeneres and a hilarious stint on talk show host’s Jimmy Fallon’s late night show Wednesday night (May 8).

Apparently, there’s something called “close-up serenading,” which involves a singer singing to a fan while standing only inches away from their face — at least according to a fan named Dan, who was at the show’s taping. He requested this up-close-and-personal time with Lady A, and he got his wish. In fact, Charles Kelley, Dave Haywood, and Hillary Scott took the close-up serenading even closer as their three faces were all just centimeters from his smiling face.

They crooned ‘Need You Now’ in perfect harmony, with their mouths almost touching the fan’s face. At one point, Kelley even caressed the fan’s face, prompting laughter from the captive audience. Clearly, the trio were milking this opportunity for all it was worth.

Lady A also turned in a smashing performance of their upbeat hit ‘Downtown.’ The band members are old pros at working the stage, and Late Night viewers were dancing along to the funky groove. Even Fallon energetically showed his approval, shouting, “That’s the way to do it! That’s the way to do it right there!” as he shook the trio’s hands after their performance.

They also hit the Late Night stage Thursday night (May 9), performing another new song titled ‘Goodbye Town‘ from their hit No.1 record ‘Golden,’ which was released just days ago.

The band will continue on their jam-packed publicity circuit, with upcoming appearances on ‘Chelsea Lately’ and ‘The Voice.’ Although it’s a busy time for the group, they’ll soon have a summer of relaxation as Scott will take time off to give birth to her daughter. Their final live appearance this year will take place at the inaugural Taste of Country Music Festival, which runs from June 13-15 at Hunter Mountain in New York.
