Legal Age To Marry In New York Is Changing To 17–Look What It Was Before!

Yikes! What do you think is the legal age you can get married in New York State? Well, I'm telling you now that you will not approve of the answer. Officials in New York are trying to change the legal age from 14 to 17 years-old.

Right now you can get married at 14 or 15 with your parents consent, but a new bill would not allow anyone under 17 to get married. If you wanted to get married at 17 or 18 you would have to get approved by a court. Between 2000 and 2010 there were nearly 4,000 people that got married under the age of 18 and most of them were girls getting married to older men.
