Lockport Chalk Festival is July 15th + 16th

The 5th Annual 2017 Sweet Chalk Festival in Lockport is coming up on July 15 and 16 in the municipal parking lots at Pine and Main Streets. The Festival has become the premier chalk event in Western New York. With the talents of local and internationally renowned artists, downtown Lockport will be transformed into temporary art museums.

This year’s theme is “Veni Vidi Creatus” (“I came, I saw, I chalked”), according to festival organizer Ellen Martin. Little chalkers are welcome to try their hand at any drawing they choose and visitors can help choose the ‘Fan Favorite’. Doing chalk drawings was a fun thing to do with my nieces and nephews in their driveway, this is similar but on a bigger scale. A very cool idea that has grown over these with this festival.
