Major Walleye Tournament on Lake Erie this Weekend

This is the big one! Fishermen and women from around the country and Canada will take part in the annual Sunset Bay Walleye Shootout!

The event takes place this Friday and Saturday at Sunset Bay and according to the press release provided to us:

The dates for the 7th Annual Sunset Bay Walleye Shootout are set. Big Fish Friday is July 21st and the Main event is Saturday, July 22nd, 2017. I am excited to share there are many new additions for next year.

Lake Erie is internationally known as one of the best fisheries in the world and specifically one of the best destinations to cast for a walleye!

Tournament organizers posted the following stats about this weekend:

95 boats with nearly 400 anglers; with fisherman coming into Western New York from 14 states to fish the best walleye fishery in the world, right here in Buffalo’s back yard.  Coupled with our live weighin show right on the beach, the highest payouts available for any one day walleye tournament and unmatched prize packs will provide an exciting interactive show for the anglers and audience alike.

The live weigh in show will start this Saturday @ 4:30 pm right on the beach at Cabana Sam’s in Sunset Bay.
