If you have been listening to WYRK for a long time, then you know about my affiliation with Make-A-Wish. Years ago I used to do an annual motorcycle run with Buffalo Sabre Rob Ray which always raised thousands for the charity. Although we don't do the motorcycle run anymore, I have found other ways to help out Make-A-Wish.

This past Saturday night we did our annual Make-A-Wish fundraiser party at Stockman's Tavern and Grove on Transit Road in Swormville. At first I was a bit worried about the turnout knowing that the evening would be a bit on the cool side. But everything worked out perfect! The place was packed with people. My band LAST SHOT provided the entertainment playing our mix of classic rock and modern rock. The dance floor was pretty much packed the entire time. Admission to the "end of Summer" party was free, but owner Scott Russell donated a portion of the proceeds from the roast pig dinner and drinks to Make-A-Wish. In keeping with the Hawaiian Luau theme, we were also selling Lei's for two dollars each with all the money going towards Make-A-Wish. I don't have the exact figures yet, but I do know that we raised a bunch of money on Saturday for Make-A-Wish. A big thank you to all who attended. We will be doing this again next year.
