With three customers and numerous staff inside, a man walked into the Dollar General on Union and shot dozens of rounds right around 3 PM. The man then started running and he had on body armor and camouflage and he didn't stop when police told him to stop.

He finally stopped when the police tackled him to the ground. It is important to note that there were NO shots fired by Cheektowaga Police. The Police say that two AR-15 rifles recovered, but no explination of how he got them and they do believe he was acting alone.

The suspect is currently at ECMC with non life threatening injuries.

According to WIVB:

During the investigation, an NFTA K-9 detected a potentially explosive substance on the suspect’s vehicle. ATF and the Erie County Sheriff’s Office Bomb Squad determined there was no threat.
