If you live in house like mine you don't have the luxury of a fireplace. It might not be a big deal for some, but for me I LOVE having fires is something that I love. I was at Home Depot one day when I saw these media centers that had an infrared fireplace in them. Obviously, it's not the real thing but it is pretty close. It debated it for over a year before deciding that the purchase would be worth it. So I found the one that had the design I wanted and purchased that sucker.

I then spent a couple hours putting it together...and there is always an issue. LOL The remote for the fireplace was broken and one of the screw heads was filled in, thank goodness I had a ton of different screws but other than that it was a tedious but easy build. So was it worth it? I think so!

The one thing that is missing is the sound of a crackling fire. If I could change one thing it would be to add some sort of noise element. The heater goes from 63 degrees to like 90 degrees or, you can just have the fire element on with no heat. Yes, it's not the real thing but for the price I am really happy with the purchase. I can't wait for the snow to come and I can really enjoy the unit!
