Before Michael Ray will make it to Buffalo for the Taste of Country, he wil make his TV debut in an upcoming episode of Nashville, and although the episode has yet to air, Ray has already filmed his part. During a recent interview, the country singer talked about his experience on the fan-favorite Music City drama.

“It was so much fun to kind of step out of my norm for a minute,” Ray tells Taste of Country, adding that this new venture is one he's dreamed about for a long time: “I’ve always wanted to get into acting, whether it be in church or high school or doing plays.”

While Ray's Nashville episode has yet to be released, we do know that Ray will appear as himself alongside Avery Barkley (Jonathan Jackson), and that the country singer will have speaking lines. While he's staying mum on the particulars, Ray does admit that his role involves a situation he's very familiar with. And as far as nerves go, the "Kiss You in the Morning" singer says that the experience was so much easier thanks to Nashville's strong cast.

“It’s unbelievable talent, and when you’re working with people of that caliber, they just have a great way of reaching out to a guy like me that hasn’t done that in that realm and just making me feel like I was a part of the cast," Ray explains. "They were awesome. I’m excited for it to come out.”

In February, Ray released a music video for his current single, "Think a Little Less," which has hit No. 1 on the Mediabase charts. For more info on his upcoming shows, visit MichaelRay.com.

Nashville is currently in its mid-season break. The show will return, on CMT, later this year.
