Miss America Is From New York For The Third Year In A Row

For the third year in a row Miss America is from New York State.  Kira Kazantsev was crowned the 2015 Miss America during the pageant Sunday night in Atlantic City, NJ.  And what did she do for the talent portion of the completion?  She played a cup.

Kira says she was inspired by the movie "Pitch Perfect" where one of the characters auditions for an a capella group by keeping rhythm with a cup.  That's exactly what she did.  There was some social media criticism of it.  She expected it, but didn't care.  And it earned her the crown.
