The Social Security Administration releases the 1,000 most popular baby names each year. Names like Jennifer, John, Jim, Michael and Michelle were popular when I was growing up. Those are names you just don't see on the most popular baby names list anymore, now we have Liam, Emma and the others below gaining popularity among parents for their children's names.

• According to the Social Security Administration, Liam took over as the most popular baby name for boys in 2017, while Emma was the most popular for girls for the fourth year in a row
• For the first time since World War II, the name Michael has dropped out of the Top Ten
• The name Alexa for a girl has dropped in popularity, while Ensley is the fastest growing name over the last year, going from 1,461 to 965 on the list
