It’s not every day an artist sings a song that connects in such a way with the audience and moves them to tears.  I’ve really only experienced that a handfull of times. But today at our listener ‘Eat n Greet’  Kristy Lee Cook sang her new single ‘Airborne Ranger Infantry’ that brought several in attendance to tears.  The song chronicles letters written by Kristy Lee’s father.

The song delivery today at Honey’s was acoustic and beautifully performed by Kristy.  After she played the song live, we were then treated to the fully produced version, which Kristy’s labelmate, Jason Aldean, had a hand in.  I was glad to hear it wasn’t overproduced and that they had kept the stripped down almost acoustic feel to the track.  This single has the potential of becoming a major hit for this up-and-coming singer/songwriter.

If her name and face sound familiar, it’s because there’s a good chance you saw Kristy Lee Cook on season seven of 'American Idol' where she placed seventh.  Kristy Lee is an engaging performer with a great personality and I for one will be pulling for her and wishing her big success.
