Coaching didn't make a difference in the Sabres first game with a new coach.  With Ron Rolston behind the Buffalo bench the Sabres made the same mistakes they've been making all season in a 3-1 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Special teams was the difference in Thursday night's game at Air Canada Center.  The Sabres went 0-3 on the power play while the Leafs connected on two of five chances including once with a two-man advantage.

Tyler Ennis got the Sabres off to a good start with a first period goal, but they ran into trouble in the second giving up a pair of goals and they never recovered.  Same dumb penalties, same short cuts.  It's just the little things that make such a big difference with this team.

It's certainly not fair to judge new coach Ron Rolston on one game, especially in the position he was put in.  The only time he had to work with the team was during Thursday morning's pre-game skate.  He'll have a little more time to lay out what he expects heading in to Saturday night's game against the New York Islanders.
