It's been years since Harry Potter fans have had a new installment to their favorite book series. Now it's out. It's the brand new book called "Harry Potter and The Cursed Child".  So after being some of the first to buy it, why are some fans so outraged?

Because it's a script. It's not a new novel. Plus it's not even entirely written by J.K. Rowling. She made it very clear in a tweet that it was just a script.

It's even described as a script based on an original new story by J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne and John Tiffany.

Had I known JK didn't write every word of this herself, I never would have read it. It reads like a poorly planned fan fiction written by someone with little knowledge of the traits of major characters. It's confusing at times, and there are already some obvious plot holes. I'm just going to pretend this didn't happen and wait for Fantastic Beasts.

I think casual fans will really like this, but if you're a big Harry Potter fan it's very disappointing...Because this is a script book you really don't get any emotion out of the story. I'm sure it's beautiful on stage, but on paper it's a disaster.

It's 3 a.m. on the day of the release. I've just finished Harry Potter and the Cursed Child; I'm extremely disappointed. The magic of the original series is entirely absent from this book. I think it was a mistake to release it in the form of a play. Its not a format that a mass audience is generally used to.
