If U.S. Senator Charles Schumer had it his way, Buffalo would be the filming location for a new movie based on the life of Thurgood, an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States and the first African American to serve as Justice.

Schumer urged the Federal General Services Administration to grant the film's desire to use the vacant Dillon Courthouse in downtown Buffalo's Niagara Square.

Marshall was a heroic figure – a man who literally risked his life for many years fighting against oppressive legal structures that denied black people their full rights as Americans – and he was one of our nation’s greatest legal minds, as well,” says Schumer, according to WGRZ.
