It’s been talked about for a while but it now looks to become a reality soon.  Cars sharing Main Street in Downtown Buffalo.  Work is expected to begin this September on the next phase.  After completion, cars will then be able to drive on Main Street in the ‘600 Block (between Tupper and Chippewa Streets).

After nearly a decade of planning and securing the funds necessary to complete the project things are in order for the work to continue.  The actual initiative began four years ago when the ‘700 block’ of Main Street, between Goodell and Tupper Streets was re-done and now open to traffic.  Bike lanes, parking spaces, trees and planters are all part of the plan.

I walk Main Street during my lunch hour and am excited to see this project get under way.   Only good things can come of it in my opinion.
