Niagara Falls Dry?

AP Photo

As the saying goes, you learn something new everyday…

As I was searching the internet and reading the news that I like to stay on top of everyday, I came across something  interesting about Niagara Falls that I never knew about. Niagara Falls was de-watered back in 1969 for about six months as a survey was done by the Army Corps Of Engineers because there was a worry about the Falls being destabilized by erosion.

I have lived in Western New York my whole life and never knew about this, I wish I would’ve been alive in 1969 to see this first-hand. I can just imagine how fascinating this must have been to see in person. I guess you really do learn something new everyday. Check out the photos HERE of Niagara Falls de-watered. Enjoy!
