One of the most recognizable statues in the City of Buffalo is going to get a bit of attention. It was announced over the weekend that The McKinley Monument in downtown Buffalo will get a facelift.

City of Buffalo officials will have more information on Monday of the proposed $650,000 architectural restoration.

The city's Arts Commission is funding the makeover.

President McKinley was shot in Buffalo and later died from his injuries. He was in Buffalo for the 1901 Pan Am Exposition and his death led to the inauguration of Theodore Roosevelt who's inaugural sight has also become a museum and architectural attraction!
