The Buffalo Bisons made it official on Tuesday by announcing that their downtown ballpark will be known as Sahlen Field beginning in 2019.  During a press conference the Bisons revealed that Sahlen Packing Company, the producer of what many consider Buffalo's best hot dogs, will own the naming rights for the next 10 years.

Earlier this year the Coca-Cola Company decided not to renew its contract for the naming rights after 10 years.  Since Sahlen's is celebrating its 150th anniversary in 2019 the timing couldn't have been better.

It'll be the fifth name for the ballpark in 30 years.  It opened in 1988 as Pilot Field, then became North Americare Park, Dunn Tire Park and most recently Coca Cola Field.

It's not the first time Sahlen's has owned the naming rights for a stadium.  Rochester's soccer stadium where the Rochester Rhinos play was previously known as Sahlen's Stadium.
