Maybe you didn't know that nunchucks were banned in New York State? But they are...or were. A federal judge has ruled the ban put into place in 1974 has been ruled unconstitutional.

The fight all started when James Maloney was charged for nunchuck possession in 2000. Since then he has been battling to get the laws overturned or amended. According to the American Bar Association,

"The state of New York's ban on nunchucks, " [was] put into place over fears that youth inspired by martial arts movies would create widespread mayhem."

Brooklyn JudgePamela Chen said that the court couldn’t just take that part out of the law however, she did rule that it violates the Second Amendment. So now all you martial arts lovers and practices can get busy learning the art of nunchucks.
