Oak Ridge Boys band member Richard Sterban's mother, Victoria Sterban, passed away on Sept. 1. She was 94 years old.

"We extend sincere condolences to Richard Sterban and his family on the loss of his mother, Victoria Sterban," the band wrote on their Facebook page. "She will be greatly missed by everyone at Oak Ridge Boys, Inc."

Victoria Sterban lived in New Jersey, but as recently last year, she was still traveling twice a year to visit her son in Tennessee.

“We’re so lucky to live in this country and experience the freedom we have, and with that comes responsibility, not only for yourself, but for your loved ones," the bass player says. "I think one of the reasons the Oak Ridge Boys have been so successful for all these years is that all of our parents taught us these common values: take responsibility, work hard and be honest. With these values, no matter what your chosen vocation, you too will be a success in life."

Sterban's funeral service was held Friday (Sept. 5) in Marlton, N.J. The Boot extends our deepest condolences to Sterban and his family.
