The Buffalo Sabres tied a franchise low for shots on goal managing only 10 shots in Sunday's 3-2 loss to the New York Islanders.  It wasn't until the Islanders had built a 3-0 lead halfway thru the second period and coach Ted Nolan called a time out that the Sabres finally woke up from their sleepwalk.

The Sabres responded with a pair of goals to come within a goal of tying it, but they couldn't generate enough offense or shots to make a difference.  Marcus Fologino's return to the lineup did make a difference.  After being sidelined for 19 games with an injury, Foligno scored a goal and drew an assist on a goal by Drew Stafford.

While the Sabres struggled offensively, the Islanders put 31 shots on Buffalo goaltender Michael Neuvirth who made 28 saves.  The Sabres play the fourth of their five-game homestand on Tuesday night against the Ottawa Senators.
