Jukebox Mafia hit the stage at the Miranda Lambert concert at Darien Lake on August 29, 2014.

Dave Fenley and Josh Hoge joined Miranda on tour in 2013 after being discovered by the songstress and her husband Blake Shelton while performing for only the second time together during Whiskey Jam at Winner’s Bar in Nashville.

“We got up and just collaborated for fun and it went well,” Josh explained how the duo first met, adding that he asked Dave to come back to hangout the following week. “We started doing our thing and she [Miranda] kind of went nuts. Long story short, [she] took us out in the parking lot and just sort of signed us up right there.”

The band, which also features Adam Flöhmeyer and Rylan Fowler, brings “southern rock, hip hop, beatbox, country, pop, soul” together in their performances, which take place directly before The House That Built Me star takes the stage. And Dave and Josh couldn’t be happier with their current position and boss.

“We went from literally doing it two nights in a bar to doing it in front of 20,000 people,” Josh said. “As they kind of say, ‘Once you’ve had the best you kind of want the best,’ and we don’t feel like there is anyone bigger or better than our boss Miranda.”

“Her audience, her crowd that she brings out to all of her shows has taken us in with open arms,” Dave added. “That’s the hardest part with an act like us that is so different, just to find someone who will get out there and be a champion for us and what we do, and Miranda’s been that for us.”

Josh went on to add that the Heart Like Mine performer is the “best”, the “top of the game”.

“She’s it,” he told Clay and Rob.
