Original Mouseketeer Hospitalized After Fire

Fire badly damaged the California home of Annette Funicello on Thursday morning.  Funicello suffers from multiple sclerosis and was home at the time the fire broke out.  The former Disney "Mouseketeer" was taken to a San Fernando Valley hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation and was listed in good condition.

Now 68 years old, Funicello rose to fame as a member of Walt Disney's "Mickey Mouse Club" when whe was a child.  She later became a teen idol, starring in a series of beach party films with Frankie Avalon.  She's been suffering from multiple sclerosis since 1992 and recently confined to a wheelchair.
