This week’s Hometown Hero is not only a hero to us, but to his soon-to-be sister-in-law too. Originally from Boston, N.Y., our Hometown Hero is 20-year-old Army EOD Specialist Dylan Franklin.

Dylan’s nomination came from his incredibly proud soon-to-be sister-in-law. It said:

Dylan is my soon-to-be brother in law and he is one of the most humble and intelligent people I know. He graduated basic training as an EOD specialist in the United States Army, which if anyone knows what an EOD specialist does, they would know how incredibly hard it is to become one. He loves what he does and he is proud to serve our country. He is currently training for a deployment overseas sometime next year. Dylan is a true example of what a soldier should be and I am so proud to call him my brother.

We are proud to call him this week’s Hometown Hero! Thanks so much to Dylan for doing what he does and making us all so proud.

If you would like to nominate someone who is currently serving our country or has served in the past, click the button at WYRK.com. We will choose a new Hometown Hero each Friday. If their name is chosen, we will not only feature them here on WYRK.com, but we’ll be sure to thank them for their service on the air and dedicate the first song on Noon Tunes to them.

Once again, thank you to Specialist Dylan Franklin, our Hometown Hero of the week!
