Owner of Hidden Valley Animal Adventures Killed in Accident

The Wyoming County Sheriff's Office confirms the owner of Hidden Valley Animal Adventures was killed when he was trampled by an animal early Monday.  Emergency crews responded to Royce Road in Varysburg around 12:30 a.m. on Monday and found that the injuries were fatal.

Hidden Valley Animal Adventures said the victim was Hans Boxler. An antelope apparently escaped from a pen while he was attending to other animals and Boxler was trampled.

Hans Boxler wanted to share his love of animals with others, so he opened his exotic animal farm in 2002 and it now features over 300 animals and 40 species.  The park is temporarily closed.  It will reopen Thursday.
