Guzman, a 16 year old alligator at the Buffalo Zoo is getting ready to depart for retirement. Like many people do, Guzman the Gator is headed south!

The Buffalo Zoo announced this week that the 16 year old alligator that has been a popular attraction at the zoo is leaving for Florida next week.

Although it is sad to see such a popular alligator leave Buffalo, this means that the Buffalo Zoo can now focus on renovations and additions to the zoo's amphibian and reptile house!

According to Wikipedia:

American alligators are found in the southeast United States: all of Florida and Louisiana, the southern parts of Georgia, Alabama, and Mississippi, coastal South and North Carolina, East Texas, the southeast corner of Oklahoma, and the southern tip of Arkansas.

Bill Haley and His Comets had a hit song in the 50's that used a phrase that is not only catchy, it makes for a great theme to send Guzman the Gator on his way to The Sunshine State.
