Well we survived. At least the world LOOKS the same today, one day after a California evangelist's predicition that the world would end on Saturday. For weeks 89-year old Harold Camping, the head of Family Radio, had been preparing his followers for the rapture. He swore that Jesus would return to Earth at 6 pm but he didn't specify a time zone. So around the world in Australia, the Phillipines, Asia, Europe and finally the United States as the 6 pm "judgement" day time came and went his followers began to realize it wasn't going to happen.

It's a prediction Camping had already gotten wrong once before. Back in 1994, he made the same predicition with the same result. He wasn't able to be reached for a comment. The Oakland headquarters of Camping's Christian radio network was closed yesterday.
