Today is Flag Day. A day to commemorate the adoption of our U.S. flag on June 14, 1777. Every day our children say "The Pledge of Allegiance To The Flag" at school. But how many of us have actually ever broken down the words of the pledge to get a better grip of what it's saying?

One of the biggest national events that I can remember in my lifetime was the tragedy that happened on September 11, 2001.  I was here at the radio station when that happened and at the time, I lived in Geneseo, NY which was a very long drive to Buffalo.  I remember being astonished by the number of flags hanging outside people's houses as I made my way from Buffalo to Geneseo.  It was after that event that I remember hearing this speech for the first time.  It's Red Skelton breaking down the pledge as his teacher did for him when he was in school and it's as true now as it was back then.
