It’s time once again for our Hometown Hero, brought to you by Batavia Downs Gaming with help from our friends at WNY Heroes who help us with our nominations every week.  This week, our Hometown Hero from Newfane, NY is 25 year old Ronald McKeown!

Ron joined the Air Force and started basic training in Texas as soon as he graduated from high school in 2009. From there, he headed off to tech school in Mississippi for about 6 months. During that time he got married to his wife, Rebecca. It was at that time that he got his first assignment to Italy.  During those 3 years in Italy he was deployed one time to Iraq and was there for 7 months. He then returned back to Italy and was sent on 2 different short missions. While he was deployed he was also a full time student and received his bachelors degree. He was sent back to Maryland for 2 years with his wife and new daughter.  After having her, Ron went from active duty to reserves. He is a huge family man and is always putting his family first no matter what. He is currently working on his second bachelors degree and working full time.

His nomination says he is a hard working man and deserves to be recognized.

That’s why we do this.  This week, we are proud to name Ronald McKeown our Hometown Hero of the week!
