The Buffalo Sabres have lost four straight games, they have a number of key players out of the lineup and there's not much help on the horizon.  The Sabres lost back to back games to New Jersey over the weekend despite some good goaltending.

Scoring goals is their main problem.  In six home games the Sabres have scored just seven goals.  They dominated overtime on Wednesday against Ottawa with an 8-0 edge in shots on goal, but couldn't score.  The Senators won it in a shootout.

Penalties have also been a problem.  On Friday night the Devils were awarded a penalty shot and scored on it to win the game after Evander Kane was whistled for hooking in overtime.

This week the schedule doesn't do them any favors.  They travel to St. Louis on Tuesday night then begin a stretch of four straight games at home with Tampa Bay coming in on Thursday and Pittsburgh on Saturday.
